Your Team Is Creating The IP. Okay.
Okay, so if you have a team, you are going to probably have some sort of procedure as to what needs to be done, by whom, by when, etc.
Stick with the workflow and the pipeline you’ve got!
Even if you feel like certain parts are very slow or awkward or even inefficient, it may still take you to the end of IP creation in a steady way.
Putting in new procedures can be a pain, especially if you have hoops you have to jump through in the company.
Stick with your team and bear with your teammates! There is actually not too much to say here, because every team is different, and every team works a bit differently, so let’s just leave it here.
Your Boss Is Creating His IP. Got it.
Okay, so if you see that your boss is creating his IP, and he seems to be quite happy to do it during his spare moments, then let him be.
You can ask and you can engage, but as we all know as IP creators, sometimes we are just happy to work on a little something for ourselves for a time during the day.
If he is asking you this and that and looking for opinions of this and that, then partake happily in the discussion. If he didn’t want it, he wouldn’t have asked!
It’s actually a great conversation piece if you can ask your boss, “Hey, how’s your IP going? Any luck with that vehicle design?”
And you can enjoy it immensely if he just grins and confesses, “Nope! But I have this great idea where the female lead is looking out the big window of it and she points to all the other spaceships in space around their ship and asks her romantic interest, ‘what are those?’ It’s gonna be perfect. It’s a vehicle design focused IP, and having more vehicles to be in the romantic scenes will be perfect. Just thought of it this morning. I’m so pumped!”
Enjoy that time with your boss, as it is really special for him and you that he enjoy working on his IP.
